Autumn Friendship Quilt Along
Well Hello lovelies! It’s been a long time since I’ve posted on the blog. Life with a toddler definitely changes your priorities! However, my other kiddos are back in school and I’m itching to sew something cute and fall-ish. I thought a Quilt Along sounded like so much fun, so I’m inviting all of you to join in! The Autumn Friendship pattern is perfect for a quilt along because I wrote it in eight sections, meaning it’s perfect for eight weeks of Fall quilting!
You may be able to tell that this is a “row by row” quilt. Meaning all the rows have the same type of block, which is how the eight weeks are structured. Each week you will finish one row of the quilt, so it comes together pretty quickly! This is also a pattern that you can sew from your stash! You can make it scrappy or follow the fabric requirements in the pattern!
The quilting party starts Sept 1, but the first week focuses on selecting your fabric and prepping for the first block in Week 2. This is what the schedule looks like:
Sept 1: Week 1 – Fabric and Cutting Instructions
Sept 8: Week 2 – Large Maple Leaf
Sept 15: Week 3 – Flying Geese
Sept 22: Week 4 – Maple Leaf on Point
Sept 29: Week 5 – Sawtooth Sunflowers
October 6: Week 6 – Pumpkins
October 13: Week 7 – Friendship Stars
October 20: Week 8 – Final Layout and Longarm Quilting Giveaway!

I’m planning to make this quilt again, this time in some adorable new fabric I got from Valley Fabrics in Lyman Wyoming. They had the cutest Orange/Teal/Brown fat quarters and I knew it would be perfect for this quiltalong!
I was so excited for this fabric that I snapped a picture right in the car! It’s not the best photo, but it definitely makes my heart happy! There is some Moda Grunge, some Riley Blake, and a few others I couldn’t remember. The store owner curated this bundle and she did an amazing job!
If you want to quilt along with me, you can get the pattern in my shop! I’m excited to quilt this pattern up in a new color way. Especially because I gifted the original quilt and now I need another one! Also, the friend I gifted this pattern to tells me its a very special quilt to her. She pulls it out on Sunday’s for her afternoon nap, but the rest of the time she keeps it protected in her closet so her kids don’t use it! Lol!
I’m thinking I may actually do the row of pumpkins at the bottom as patchwork pumpkins. It would be so cute to have a gingham pumpkin or two! But I also have super cute fabric… so many decisions!
The other fun part about this pattern is you can choose to add the patchwork border or leave it off! I’m contemplating a checkerboard border… I had so much fun with those on my Table Runner Patterns that I think I want to try it on this quilt too!
